Tips for ironing fabrics.

August 13, 2007 RENU

1. Iron in bedroom so u can sort & hang on hangers close at hand in closet.
2. Put Al foil under ironing board cover so it reflects heat & so both sides ironed at once.
3. Progress from garments needing lowest to highest temps.
4. To prevent collars, cuffs, hems from pluckering, iron on wrong side 1st, also double thick fabric.
5. Quick spray starch- 1Tc.starch+2c h20 in spray bottle, shake well. Spray lightly, iron.
6. To avoid flattening embroidery or eyelets, iron face down on thick towel.
7. If electric iron gets clogged & suddenly unclogged, leaves white mineral globs on dresses. If clogged, slows ironing, damages clothes. So wash sole plate with distilled h20, clean vents with cotton swabs. Clean soleplate when slightly warm with cloth dipped in b.soda. Scrub starch build up or other soil.
