Breast care

August 8, 2007 RENU

Breasts, largely made up of fat globules & fibrous connective tissue, do not have any muscular tissues, held by pectoral muscles which lie betn rib cage. If pectorals r in good shape, breasts will get good cleavage & lift. Excercise strengthens supportive ligaments, which stretch from nipple to underside of breast. To prevent sagging wear supportive sports bras that have good upward support & hold breasts close to chest. Push-ups, dumb-bell flies, wgt machines work good.
Exercise: 1. Lie down on mat, hold 3lb dumbbells, one in each hand, extend arms out at shoulder level. Raise both arms straight up together above ur body, keeping elbow slightly bent, so that wgts meet over chest. Return wgt’s out to sides at shoulder hgt. Repeat 13-15 times.
2. Lie down on a mat. Extend arms & hold wgts up in air over chest. Bend elbows, lower wgts toward chest, with elbows out to sides at shoulder level. Extend arms straight back up over chest. Repeat 13-15 times.
3. Take a wgt in each hand, extend arms out to each side, do 15 small, backward circles about a foot in diameter. Widen circles slightly & do another 15, then repeat these 2steps going forward.

Nutrition for Breast: Eat less animal fat. Eat more oily fish, use EVOO instead of standard cooking oils. Top diet with antioxidant supplement, including vit C, E, beta-carotene, mineral selenium. eat plenty of antioxidant-rich fresh fruits, vegs, esp on, garlic, carrot, tomato, broccoli, cabbage, c.fl. Eat more fibre, esp oats, rye, millet, brown rice, beans. Fibre helps move food through gut & may reduce re-absorption of oestrogen. Limit alcohol – it can cause an increase in oestrogen levels.Cut back on coffee, cola, chocolate, strong tea. Increase prot intake to build & keep muscles tone & firm, provides much-needed Collagen.

Measuring For Proper Bra Size
1. First measure yourself around the ribs, just below your bust keeping tape snug not tight. Remember to stand up straight and breath normally. If the measurement is an uneven number, round up to the next even number.
2. To determine the cup size, you’ll need to measure around your body at the fullest part of the bust. Be certain the measuring tape is secure against your back.
3. When you have the two measurements, subtract the first measurement (the rib measurement) from the second measurement (the bust). If the difference is 1 inch, your cup size is A; 2 inches is a B; 3 inches is a C and so forth.
